Essex County Labour Alternative Budget Proposals

Today the Essex Labour County Group will produce their alternative budget to the Tory led Essex County Council's, the government are bankrupting local County Councils in the same way as they are bankrupting the NHS.

The administration are proposing a 3% increase in the social care precept and then in the next breath claim it’s freezing council tax. The Conservative administration have been freezing council tax and at the same time making unsustainable savings (cuts) of £597million – They have now got to find a further £106million of savings (cuts) by the end of the year.
