Q: What skills or ideas could you bring to the Chelmsford Labour Party campaign team?
A: There are a lot of new members who have joined the LP since the election of Corbyn as leader. I would like to see a meeting called which specifically invites these new members to attend, to give those new members a chance to introduce themselves and to talk about why they have been motivated to join the LP, and to speak about their own vision for the future.

Q: What skills or ideas could you bring to the Chelmsford Labour Party campaign team?
A: A campaign team needs a ‘product’ they can promote and sell, currently the Labour Party does not have one. I believe the party needs a ‘root and branch’ overhaul of policies that need to be socialist and meet the aspirations and needs of most party members. the PLP needs to support the leader and their policies. We must move away from the ‘conservative’ Blairite centre and become the alternative political what so many members want. I would be happy to contribute to policy reform forums.

A: I am not sure whether this approach will achieve anything useful, especially among the masses of new Members. Person-to-person approaches are best, by visiting or by telephone. What ever happened to the intention to contact all new Members? I started on the Moulsham & Central lot had had great responses but had to ease up. I understand that it was happening in only one other ward (Good old Jim!). I do not feel incented to resume, even though I’m now feeling a lot better. Grumble, grumble………….
