Two Tier Policing

I attended the a PCC 2010 hustings where a question was asked about how the candidate would expect to handle crimes committed by those who arrived with “different cultures”, which was skillfully glossed over by most of the candidates. Since that time we have seen such instances of crimes being ignored due to political correctness, at Police and Council level in Rotherham. We have also seen, just across the County border in Cambridge, both Female and Male Rape (the latter it seems given less consideration by authorities) committed by soldiers visiting from elsewhere in the world. My question is further enhanced by both reporting, and an FOI report by an investigative individual which the Police answered, of an incident in Essex: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a127_protest_17th_feb_2016#incoming-800916 http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/14281160.A127_protest_closes_road_in_both_directions/ As the two pieces illustrate, Police are currently issuing penalty notices to those “hogging the Fastlane” whilst allowing protests, blocking both lanes of a major road, possibly inconveniencing hundreds (plus the safety issues) to continue with “negotiations”. I would appreciate your comments on these points, together with how you would deliver a Police Service where each individual is dealt with on the same level, as opposed to what clearly happened here. Alternatively, if you consider this to be a legitimate method of protest, please advise and next time I have an issue, Ill get some friends together etc etc.

Fire and rescue service

As a resident of Thurrock can you inform me what your views are on PCC's having responsibility for fire as outlined in the police and crime bill. How would you protect the fire and rescue service (FRS) from further cuts? Would you activiley campaign and oppose cuts to the FRS? Would you engage with the fire brigades union officials by meeting with them to resolve issues and protect the service delivered to local communities? What would be your priorities for the FRS and how would you ensure they were delivered?
